Online Privacy and Security

We believe your online privacy and security are important and will protect it to the best of our ability.
This policy applies to all of our classes and services, and we encourage you to read it in its entirety.

Intro

This Privacy Policy describes our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information in connection with your use of our website, email, and forms produced on behalf of third parties (collectively, our “products and services”). The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Paradise Rod & Gun Club, Inc. (PRGC). For the purposes of data protection legislation BOT is a data controller for the information we hold about you in providing our services, meaning that we control and are responsible for the keeping and use of personal information on computer or in structured manual files. By using our products and services you agree to accept the practices described in this page.

Where this Privacy Policy uses the term “personal data” we mean any data that relates to an identifiable individual, including his or her name, address, online identifiers, payment details, or email address. The specific data we collect is described in this policy.

We encourage you to read the entire policy.

Your personal privacy and security

We do confirm your identity against your photo ID before the class. That is the only use of your photographic image. Absolutely NO CAMERAS OR CELL PHONES are allowed in the classroom or on the range.

We do work with local gun ranges in our training and qualification sessions and are cleared by the owners and managers of such facilities ahead of time. We will have you complete range-relevant documentation as specified by that facility. An NRA-trained BOT Range Safety Officer, pre-cleared by and known to range management, is present for every range session.

How we store your personal data and keep it safe

Unless you're a member, we don't store your data.

If you're a member, we will always keep your personal data rights in high regard and take account of these rights. We store this information and more in the business’s “cloud" account. In addition, in setting up training we communicate with you via email, which we do not share with others except as described under “How and when we might share your personal data”). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You can further help to ensure your own security by taking a few simple precautions. (For instance, take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your computer and to any login ID and password pairs, and to be sure to sign off when you are finished using a shared computer.)

  • Categories of personally identifiable information we collect via the website: none
  • Categories of third parties with whom we may share such personally identifiable information: None

Your right to opt out

Note that, in general, you may not opt-out of these uses of your personal data as they are transactional and not promotional in nature. If, however, you do not wish to receive communications once your training is complete you may withdraw your consent for inclusion in our email list. Do so by clicking the "unsubscribe" link provided in every email, or by emailing us your intent using the “From” email address also provided in every email. We will retain only an offline record of your training as part of our historical and statistical understanding of how the business is doing. Bear in mind that opting out will affect our ability to carry out some of the tasks above to your benefit.

By the way, we manage the email list for our newsletter, The Bullet List, through MailChimp. MailChimp is heavy into security and privacy. You can read their own policy about this stuff here.

Your right to be forgotten (EU GDPR compliance)

Although we are an American company dealing with American clients we think the European Union concept of a right to be forgotten has merit. Therefore, if you do not wish us to retain your information after you complete training, you have the right to request that we delete it altogether. We’ll do so and will change any name information to “anonymous-by-request.” We then will retain only an offline record of your training as part of our historical and statistical understanding of how the business is doing. Bear in mind that “being forgotten” will affect our ability to carry out some of the tasks above to your benefit.
